This week at GMC 05.06.17

.06.17 – 4am start to deal with a deck that wouldn’t lower in Southwark. Meanwhile, at the workshop we have a Mercedes with a clutch/brake fault, an MAN in for MOT prep, a coach with an electrical fault and a European Scania with a gear fault. Two further call outs during the day – a shutter fault in Thurrock and a trailer with brakes locked on in Edmonton.

.06.17 – Coach completed and collected. Work on going with the Scania and Mercedes and the MOT prep is coming along nicely. A breakdown in Benfleet – trailer with EBS fault is followed by a two man winching job over in Brentwood to get a unit and trailer out of a ditch.

.06.17 – Very early start at 00:30 – another deck fault, although closer to home this time in Basildon. Work still ongoing at the workshop on the Mercedes and the European Scania. The afternoon brings us a unit with smoking hot brakes over in Boreham and then one with a snapped ABS lead in Northfleet. Back over the river to a trailer with brakes stuck on at Clacket Lane Services leading to a late finish into the early hours of the next day.

.06.17 – Hooray! The European Scania now up and running having had hi/low range solenoids replaced. The driver, who had been camped at our workshop for a week is on his way back to Bulgaria. Quick local breakdown in Rayleigh to replace a snapped red airline. Two inspections booked for the afternoon; one in Basildon followed by one in Laindon. Early evening sees an Iveco come into the workshop with an EDC light on the dash.

.06.17 – Busy in the workshop completing MOT prep on the MAN and diagnosing the fault with the Iveco. Breakdown in Chelmsford after lunch; trailer with brakes locked on. Technician assesses that this needs to come back to the workshop. Once back, work begins to replace pads, discs and caliper. A pre-booked PMI comes in to be collected first thing the next day. The evening ends with two breakdowns within 15 minutes of each other; EBS fault on a vehicle stopped by VOSA at the Dartford Crossing and a leaking spring over in Witham.

.06.17 – Early start Saturday morning with two vehicles needing number plates and number plate lights fitting in Laindon. Followed by a breakdown in Southend – lights and bumper damaged after the vehicle struck a bollard. This will need to come into the workshop on Monday for further work. Day ends with the recovery of a coach from the A130 near Sadler’s Farm to Thurrock.

.06.17 – Another deck job in the early hours of the morning over in Waltham Cross bookmarks the end of another busy week.
